A3 Soft Pastels
I love the way Rachel Stribbling paints fur. And after admiring her work for a while, I figured that If I want to learn how to draw fur better. The best thing to do is try to recreate one of her peices.
I drew this before my other tiger drawing. And learn't alot from it. Paper selection was the main thing. I used plain card, which didn't hold any layers of pastel. Pastel paper works much better. I think the eyes worked well.
Check out my links to see Rachel Stribblings work.

More hatching practice.
A4
Need to try doing this now from life or photo.
I think the hatching is great for giving 3d shape.

Drawn on A4 from an anatomy guide book by (Giovani Civardi).
I was trying to use hashing to shade these
rather than blending by smudging. Started to get a
feel for it by the end of the hand drawing.
I'm quite happy with the result.
